The Coworking Space

For almost a year I had a plan to build a creative space for freelancers. Then I found that this crazy idea had actually been given a name and had been a growing trend for several years.
Coworking.
I am excited to announce that in the near future we will be developing a coworking space in Salt Lake City (or thereabouts.) It will also house full video studio space & have podcasting necessities. I'm open to any other ideas for this new creative space. It will be a fantastic place for networking, community workshops, playing, growing and working. I will keep you posted. The working name for this space is
"Montage Coworking Studios"

COWORKING IS, “…the social gathering of a group of people, who are still working independently, but are interested in the synergy that can happen from working with talented people in the same space.” (The all-knowing Wikipedia, 2008)

"Where coffee shop meets cubicle" - Newsweek

“Co-working facilities blend the appeal of an independent environment with many of the
advantages of the traditional office” - Business Week

“Shared workspaces a wave of the future” - San Francisco Chronicle

“Coworking is about providing affordable, open, collaborative spaces for people as an alternative to working from home or from noisy coffee shops. It’s really tied to the nomadic worker who is part of a growing movement of people who don’t have traditional offices to go to, but want to work in an environment with other people. It’s like an artistic collective with a technology twist.” (Tara Hunt aka @Missrogue aka The Queen of Coworking)

That's the short answer for what is 'coworking.' There are prbly 60+ in the Nation and over 15 outside the US. Stay tuned for more information about Salt Lake' (or thereabouts) newest Coworking facility.
The Bean in the Kitchen
Well here's the update.
The kitchen was a GREAT HIT! She played with it for nearly 4 hrs on Christmas Morn!! That's amazing! Grandma gave the bean a little muffin play set with some fabric muffins and an apron, oven mitt and muffin tin. She must've cooked muffins 50 times that morning.
Since then she's woken up in the early morning, and in the dark of her room, turned on the boiling water sounds and started cooking. Too Cute! Well worth the time it took to put it together.
